EPC, check engine, and traction light all on; loss of power and gas milage; what do i do?

i have a 2001 VW GTI VR6 12V

a while ago i had problems with a loss of power and my car would sometimes die while idling. i was told it may be a problem with the faulty MAF sensor that Bosch put out for some number of years and what i needed to do was clean it by putting it in a ziplock bag with isopropyl alcohol, move it around thoroughly and let it air dry for a day. well i didnt get around to doing that for awhile. then the other day i started my car and the EPC light and the traction control light were on so i figured it would be a good time to finally clean the MAF sensor. i did so and i've noticed no change. i would really like to know what to do from here so that i can pass my emissions and get back to having a smooth running car!

any help would be much appreciated!
